meet my personal trainer

okay okay .. don't get jealous. he's not just my personal trainer .. he probably trains a few tens of thousands of others. and no he's not just some piece of eye candy with ripped abs...

he's shaun t! creator of insanity.

in the past two weeks i have mentioned a few times that i started the insanity workouts. if you haven't heard anything about them let me just tell you that they are hard. i had been thinking about getting the p90x dvds for christmas because i needed some kind of workout that i could do at home.

well magically one of paris's sisters got her hands in the insanity dvds and lent them to me! now, i used to be someone who worked out a lot.  oh wait .. used to be. the first day of these workouts .. the fitness test .. i died. i just died.

the first four days of my new workout plan i literally could not get out of bed in the morning. everything from my back down to the bottoms of my feet was killing me.
but then slowly it stopped hurting.

and then one day last week .. i completed a workout .. and was still standing!

okay maybe i looked a little something like this...

but seriously, these workouts will kick your butt.
and its totally worth it.

help a girl out!

you guys. i need help. i need some motivation!

i love working out. okay .. usually i love working out. but the past oh, few months, i have done absolutely nothing for my fitness. nothing! for me, that is like .. unacceptable.

so you tell me .. okay b, just go workout. this is where i need help. i need some motivation! a few months ago i had joined a local gym but i just didn't like it. it was always super crowded with not enough machines and it just really turned me off. so i never went.

and running? oh running. i miss it, i really do. i'm one of those people that needs to have music while i run. and here in this country i personally do not feel comfortable going for a run by myself with my ipod. paris has told me that it would be fine but i'm not there yet.

so that leaves me with working out at home. i've been searching for some at home workouts and i found this that i thought looked interesting.

i figure i could try it for a few weeks and see how it goes. i also have access to an elliptical that i could use to warm up with. what do you guys think? worth my time?

also, if any of you have any at home workouts that you have tried and loved .. help a girl out! i would love to hear what has worked and what hasn't worked for everyone!

monday musings

i always laugh a little bit when i read this because its so true. i have never regretted a workout. yeah sure maybe i have hated working out in the moment, but after a workout i have never said, "man i really regret doing that."

i have, however, been feeling a little regretful lately of not working out. for most of my life i have been very active whether it was soccer, gymnastics, running, or just a good workout at the gym.

these past few months though i just have lost all of that motivation. since being here i've joined the gym, but didnt force myself to go. maybe it was this particular gym that never seemed very inviting to me.

i've tried to get back into running, but i think being so out of shape, has brought that fear of working really really hard to get back in to shape.

so here i've been in somewhat of a huge exercise funk. i need some motivation from some where so i can start to put that effort in. to really want to get fit again.

last week i went to my first zumba class in a long time and it was somewhat of a wake up call. it was hard

i'm gonna go back though. at least twice a week. so maybe that will be my kick-start to some new found workout motivation.
